Skin Check Clinics

TUESDAYS 4.30PM-6.30PM

BULK BILLED!

You do not have to go to a specialised skin clinic to save yourself from skin cancer. Our doctors are highly experienced in diagnosing and excising skin lesions and skin cancers

Every hour, skin cancer claims another life. Mothers, sons, daughters, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends - no one is immune. But with early detection, skin cancer is almost 100% curable. That's why we encourage everyone over 13 years of age, and particularly the higher risk groups (see below), to take action and get a skin cancer screening once a year.

Some facts you should know:

  • Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world!
  • According to National Skin Cancer Awarwness Campaign 2009-2010, 1700 Australians die from skin cancer each year
  • Almost half of people who live in Australia whole lives will develop some sort of skin cancer and 1500 people die every year.
  • Melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer but 90-95% of cases are treatable if detected early
  • Some melanomas can become life threatening in as little as 6 weeks
  • Research shows that men tend to leave their skin cancers too long before going to a doctor
  • If you find anything new or different about your spots/moles/freckles etc do not delay to show your GP
  • If you are interested in finding out more about various skin cancers

What is a skin cancer screening?sunbaker

A skin cancer screening is simply a close visual inspection of your body skin by a doctor. Screenings typically start with your face and hairline, moving to the rest of your body down to the bottoms of your feet. The entire process takes only a few minutes and is completely painless.

Please cover up, wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun when its most dangerous. And if you really care about your skin and your health please make an appointment for a skin check with us.
