Do you have children aged 12 – 35months old?

If so, do you know about the change to childhood immunisation schedule??

On your childhood immunisation schedule (little red book) is a vaccine called

Prevenar.  This is a pneumonia immunisation, and the Government is making changes you need to know about.

There is a change from the Prevenar immunisation to the new Prevenar 13.

Sounds the same, but the Prevenar 13 covers an extra 6 Strains of the Pneumonia bacteria.

Prevenar 13 has already replaced Prevenar on the baby immunisations schedule for the ages of  2, 4 & 6 months, and now the Government has funded a catch up immunisation for children aged  12 - 35 MONTHS

The funding is available from 1st October  - 30 September 2012  for these children only.

If your child is in this age bracket:

  •  A single dose of Prevenar 13 is required.
  •  Call and make an appt for Prevenar 13 with your Doctor and Practice Nurse.
  •  Can be done at same time as 12 month or 18 month immunisations.
  •  Can be done on its own at a separate appointment.
  •  Its FREE!!!!!
  •  Call the practice to book on 33504222.
  •  And don’t forget to bring your child’s red Health Book for updating
