What we offer

Injury Management – The usual pathway for the management of acute occupational injury and illness is through presentation to a local general practitioner or hospital emergency department with subsequent follow up with the GP or hospital emergency/outpatients department and other health practitioners.

We understand that successful outcomes require clear and free communication between all parties and the application of well recognized best practice injury management principles.

The principles are early diagnosis, appropriate clinical input and early and safe return to work, wherever possible, to give the best psychological and physical environment for employees. In turn this translates into financial saving and an engaged workforce for the employer.

Priority Service – For urgent matters we will ensure that your employee is seen no later than during that morning or afternoon (on the day the injury happens); depending on the time you call.

Other Services – These can be tailored to the needs of any individual company but, for example, could include:

  • Assessment of fitness for duty where other practitioners have provided treatment for work or non work related conditions
  • Pre-employment screening examinations
  • File review of complex claims
  • Vaccinations of staff on site or in the medical centre

Contact Chermside Medical Centre – When an employee is injured and you require them to be seen, ring 3350 4222 and identify yourself by company name – of course employees still have the right to see their own doctor for treatment

  • For urgent matters, as mentioned above, we will ensure that your employees are seen no later than that morning or afternoon, depending on what time you call
  • Routine matters can be dealt with by an appointment on a day that is mutually suitable
  • After each treatment service your company representative will be contacted by telephone to provide a short summary of treatment and rehabilitation needs.

Please feel free to suggest amendments or other points, but once you are happy to indicate your interest in having us as your preferred provider of primary care treatment services just confirm this in writing or by calling and one of our team memebers will get back to you. 

Our experience in Pre Placement Medicals and Corporate Health Care

Chermside Medical Centre is a practice of 12 General Practitioners that has existed for over 13 years. Corporate health has always been a major part of our business portfolio.

Our current clients (WorkCover & Injury NET) include a wide range of companies and businesses of various natures and sizes. These include giants such as Coles, Woolworths, BiLo, Pick n Pay, Beaurepairs, Australia Post, as well as various other small businesses.

Corporate Medical Examinations

Our basic pre-placement medical involves measuring the following:

- Height

- Weight

- BMI

- Pulse

- Blood Pressure

- Basic urine test (not drug or alcohol)

- Visual Acuity - near, mid, far distance

- Ishihara test (colour vision)

- Plus a doctor's report on past medical history and basic fitness

 

 

We are able to perform other testing as requested, which is priced accordingly.
